AskPracto: A twitter based medical advice service from Practo

Hello readers,

Medical advice through Twitter is a very innovative concept.
Practo has launched AskPracto service in which people can use @AskPracto twitter handle to post their queries and get response.

We will monitor the progress of this initiative and hope for its success.

Sentiment analysis of electronics firms in India [March 2016]

Sentiment analysis of following electronic firms has been carried out:

Acer @acer_india
Asus @asusindia
Sony @sony_india
HP @HPIndia
Dell @Dell_IN
Lenovo @Lenovo_in
Samsung @samsung_in
Apple @AppleIncIndia

10,000 tweets posted between 01-03-2016 to 31-03-2016 were requested from the official twitter handles. Sentiment analysis was done and the firms were ranked.

Rankings are as under:

Sentiment analysis of Indian travel planning companies- March 2016

Hello readers,

As days get warmer and longer with creeping in of a perfect Indian summer, it is time to start planning for the summer vacations in the hills of Kullu and Manali with the kids.

We bring to you a look at how have some of the travel firms in India been doing on Twitter this month!

We have carried out the sentiment analysis of following Indian travel planning firms:

MakeMyTrip - @makemytrip
GoIbibo - @goibibo
Cleartrip - @cleartrip
Yatra.com - @YatraHolidays

5000 tweets posted between 01/03/2016 and 31/03/2016 have been analysed.


RANKS:

RANK 1: MAKEMYTRIP WITH A SCORE OF 97/100
RANK 2: GOIBIBO WITH A SCORE OF 67/100
RANK 3: CLEARTRIP WITH A SCORE OF 50/100
RANK 4: YATRA HOLIDAYS WITH A SCORE OF 26/100

MakeMyTrip is again number 1 with a very high score of 97/ 100.
GoIbibo is second with a score of 67/100 and is followed by Yatra and Cleartrip.

Yatra Holidays has had a considerable fall in the twitter sentiment score.

A lot of customers have found the experience not very pleasing which is evident by the presence of words like painful, fraud, worst etc. This aspect of customer satisfaction will need to be looked at by Yatra soon.

Sentiment Analysis of telecom operators in India: March, 2016

Hello readers,

Hope all are well.

As suspense builds over the impact of Reliance Jio on Indian telecom sector and as the Airtel 4G girl continues to amuse us with her new TV ads, we take a look at at how some of the telecom operators fared in their social media presence in March 2016.

We have requested 10,000 tweets and measured the response at the official hashtags of the following telecom operators:

Airtel ~ @airtelindia,
BSNL Mobile ~ @bsnlmobileindia,
Reliance Mobile ~ @RelianceMobile,
Tata Docomo ~ @tatadocomo,
Idea Cellular ~ @ideacellular &
Vodafone ~ @VodafoneIN

The Twitter Sentiment Score is calculated as follows:

TSS = 100* (Total positive tweets/ Total tweets)

A higher score is better and shows an overall positive sentiment among twitter feedback left with respective company's official hashtag. Positive tweets have score more than +2 and negative tweets have score less than -2.

Please note that BSNL  did return only 4 tweets from its hashtag @bsnlmobileindia.
Perhaps it has changed its official hashtag.
